Bräu am Berg sets an example for the Austrian brewing industry with the "Independent Private Breweries of Austria" association
Bräu am Berg is an Austrian beer steeped in tradition, with a history dating back to the early 17th century.
The original brewery in Frankenmarkt was first mentioned in 1626 and has undergone many changes over the years - but the highest art of brewing has always remained unchanged, in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, which guarantees absolute drinking pleasure in addition to consistent quality.
After two awards in 2016 and 2020, Bräu am Berg decided to set an example for Austrian brewing in 2022 with the "Austrian Private Breweries - 100% Independent" seal.

It distinguishes beers that come exclusively from private Austrian breweries and can therefore maintain their regional and individual brewing traditions without having to take global brand strategies into account. The 30 breweries that currently belong to this initiative come from all of Austria's federal states, from the northern Waldviertel to southern Carinthia.
The independent Austrian brewing industry is thus sending out a strong signal: In addition to beers from large international corporations, there are also beers from private breweries on the domestic market that are deliberately independent and free of corporate groups, such as the Starzinger family's Aspach brewery, where the Bräu am Berg and Aspacher Urbräu are brewed.
